Description: Vanadzor Municipality, in cooperation with Gyumri Municipality, Pila Municipality, Poland, launches EU-funded Alliance for Better City Governance Project. (ABC.GoV). The Project start date is 1 February, 2021.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to recruit an experienced Project Associates who will assist the project coordinators in the project day-to-day activities in Vanadzor and Gyumri during the project implementation period.

Main Responsibilities:

• Under the leadership of the Project Coordinator, assists the Project Coordinator and other project staff in day-to-day implementation of the project activities in target communities
• Take part in organization, implementation of project activities
• Assists in coordinating activities of the project partners
• Assists in contracting and coordinating activities of outsourced experts to ensure that assignments are completed timely and deliverables submitted duly
• Provides input for drafting progress reports
• Maintains day-to-day contact with local stakeholders of the target area
• Assists in making arrangements with local stakeholders, providing project team with necessary information
• Supports to monitoring and data collection in the field
• Supports communication and visibility activities of the project
• Provides translations from English to Armenian and from Armenian to English.

Qualifications and Experience:

• University degree in social sciences or related fields
• At least 3 years of work experience
• General knowledge of the problems of target cities
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent knowledge of English
• Experience in working in Vanadzor and Gyumri
• Previous experience in working with local governments and other local stakeholders, work with international organizations is an asset.

Remuneration ․ According to the salary history, but not more than budget by the project.

About the Project

Overall objective: Contribute to the sustainable urban governance of the cities of Vanadzor and Gyumri, Armenia

Specific objective(s):

1. The municipalities of Vanadzor and Gyumri design and implement urban planning, waste recycling and transportation policies in line with national and European standards.

2. Users of municipal transports and waste management services have access to safe, healthy, inclusive and green services.

3. The residents of Vanadzor and Gyumri are more knowledgeable and aware of adverse effects of plastic waste and fuel transportation on human health and environment, change behaviour to contribute improvement of service delivery. Vanadzor, Gyumri, and Piła municipal employees are more knowledgeable and skilled in urban governance and service delivery.
