The village of Gandzakar is located 4 km far from Idjevan, a tributary of Aghstev in three small tributaries of the Urtajur River. According to reliable information, from the 1860s, two dozen families from Nerkin Aghdan (from current Aknaghbyur village) move and settle in that area.
