Community Services ` branch of Yerevan State University of Economics. There are also Yeghegnadzor state college, public school, 1 high school, 2 main schools, as well as three kindergartens, art school and children's creative center, a 300-seat sports school, a stadium for 800 seats, runners and a small sports field, A 500-seat concert hall, a library with 56,119 book fund and a geological museum. Yeghegnadzor has a municipal hospital with 50 beds, which has surgical, gynecological, pediatric, therapeutic, infectious, blood transfusion departments, maternity hospital, ambulance, clinic-biochemical laboratory. There are 5 pharmacies in the town. The city has 4 parks. The Momik Park has a playground, three carousels, 1,000 seats, a fully renovated amphitheater, a comfortable stadium where mass events are held.

Yeghegnadzor is one of the ancient settlements of the Armenian Highland. This is evidenced by the finds of the mausoleum in the north-eastern part of the city. They belong to the first millennium BC. According to historical sources, Yeghegnadzor was called in the Middle Ages by Ponzatagh, Skhtoralez, later Yegegik, Yeghegis, and from the beginning of the 19th century, Keshishkend. Once the Soviet order has been approved, Keshishkend becomes a regional center.

In 1935, Keshishkend was renamed Mikoyan, a prominent political figure of the Soviet Union Anastas Mikoyan. By the Decree of the Supreme Council of Armenia on December 6, 1958, the Mikoyan district and the same settlement were renamed Yeghegnadzor. In 1996 the Yeghegnadzor and Vayk regions united and became the province called Vayots Dzor, and the settlement was granted the status of the city.
