Launch of Municipal Leadership Trainings

The solemn opening ceremony of four-month Municipal Leadership Trainings was held on 6 February. Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Mr. David Lokyan and Mr. Emin Yeritsyan, President of the Union of Communities of Armenia made speeches.
In his speech, Minister of Territorial Administration and Development David Lokyan mentioned that the country's first component which makes, country strong, rich and protected, is the community and the development should proceed from the bottom. In this logic, a great idea is to train young professionals who will later become involved in community processes.
Municipal Leadership courses are free of charge and are intended for young people interested in local self-governance and public administration. The courses will be held in the format of lectures, seminars, practical workshops, cognitive visits, meetings with experts, public figures. Courses will be held twice a week during four-month period.
Municipal Leadership courses aim to develop participants' knowledge and skills through non-formal learning tools, promote young people's participation in public life, highlight the current issues of the field, and encourage critical thinking. The trainings will be mainly practical and will focus not only on theoretical knowledge but on experience sharing and practical exercises.
